Premiere of Silence In Sikeston on PBS World September 16th, 2024

I’m very excited to invite you to the highly anticipated premiere of Silence in Sikeston, a documentary that shines a light on the often-overlooked stories of racial divisions in a small Midwestern town. This film offers a poignant look at how the echoes of the past still reverberate in the lives of Sikeston’s residents, and what happens when that silence is finally broken.

About the Score
I had the honor of composing the orchestral score for this evocative documentary, featuring solo piano and cello, to give voice to the film’s emotional undercurrents. The blend of rich cello textures, sweeping orchestral strings with intimate piano moments creates a soundscape that mirrors Sikeston’s journey—a town caught between the weight of history and the resilience of its people.

About the Film
Directed by Emmy Nominated Jill Rosenbaum, Silence in Sikeston takes viewers on a compelling journey into the heart of a small town that has been shaped by racial tensions, economic hardship, and a long-standing silence about a forgotten history making event. Through the voices of its residents, the film uncovers hidden truths and presents an unflinching look at the struggles and triumphs of those working to create meaningful change.

The film asks critical questions: How do we move forward when our past remains unspoken? What happens when we finally confront the silence that has shaped our communities for generations?

Premieres Monday September 16th at 8pm EST on PBS World Channel. Check your local listings for more information. Don’t miss this powerful premiere!
